U Hello everyone, Unokuchi here, supporting your soldering life.

As the title suggests, something amazing has come out today – a new laser soldering. The temperature of soldering can finally be seen now.

Temperature During Laser Soldering

U Japan Unix has been selling for over 20 years now, and during these 20 years, themost common question from our customers has been about the temperature during laser soldering. Up until now, there probably wasn’t a way to measure the temperature of the solder during soldering. It’s hard to understand without seeing it, so I suggest watching the video.


U The light blue numbers you see now, although they seem to flicker, represent the actual temperature of the solder during soldering. Seeing this temperature in real-time is probably a first in history. Being able to see it in real-time is fantastic. It helps to understand the condition of the product. For instance, if it contains a lot of moisture, the temperature may vary.

We used to guess that this was the case, but now we can clearly see it through the temperature. It makes it very clear what kind of soldering is being done.

Controllable Output

U Next, not only can we see the temperature, but also control the output. This is the second amazing feature, and I’d like you to see it in the actual video.


U This is the video of the control. Let me briefly explain. The green area indicates the target temperature. Here, it’s set to 300 degrees. On the left, the yellow indicates the power laser output set, and below that is the current power, showing the actual output. The top right shows the measured temperature, in light blue numbers. Please watch the actual video.

You can see the current power moving towards the target temperature of 300 degrees. The ability to maintain around the target temperature by controlling the output is a great feature of the new laser.

Summary

U As you have just seen, the ability to control this is incredible because it greatly increases the stability of the process. Even though products might appear similar, there are slight variations. Being able to see and control these variations through temperature has allowed us to reduce these discrepancies.

We are now conducting most of our laser soldering experiments at Japan Unix with this control mode and temperature measurement. The feedback from our customers is great, and we ourselves are seeing things we only guessed before, now clearly visible through temperature. This has made it a highly recommended laser soldering technique.
