Japan Unix Co., Ltd. Product Security Policy

This document defines the basic policy, together with the specific measures taken, regarding the security of the products*1 that Japan Unix Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) develops, manufactures and sells (hereinafter referred to as “Product Security”).

1. Basic Policy

With the rapid advance of the Internet and of IT and IoT technologies, we believe it is essential to take appropriate measures to protect the systems built with our products and the information they handle. For this reason, the Company is committed to supplying safe and secure products. Furthermore, in cooperation with our partner companies, we will make continuous efforts to help maintain and improve the following six elements in our customers’ operating environments.

2. Specific Measures

• Legal compliance The Company complies with the laws and regulations of each country concerning product security. In addition, we implement appropriate protective measures for personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
• Building an organization and framework to ensure safety and security The Company has established an internal framework to oversee product security activities. When an issue relating to a product vulnerability occurs, we proactively and promptly investigate the cause and implement countermeasures, so that our customers can use our products with confidence.
• Promoting defense in depth for systems In order to further strengthen the security of our customers’ systems, the Company promotes multi-layered defense covering human, physical and network aspects, and supports the introduction, maintenance and improvement of security measures for the systems that are built.
• Practicing a security-oriented product lifecycle The Company takes product security into account at every phase of the product lifecycle (planning, development, production preparation, procurement, manufacturing, sales, operation and maintenance, and disposal), and continues its efforts to protect products from evolving attacks.
• Reducing supply chain risk In order to raise the level of product security across the entire supply chain, including the Company itself, we establish and maintain mechanisms for communication and education so that correct knowledge of, and a high level of awareness of, product security are sustained.
