In 2025, we established <mark><strong>UNIX SOLDERING EUROPE KFT.<\/strong><\/mark> in Budapest, Hungary, as our <mark><strong>first European subsidiary<\/strong><\/mark>. Compared with conventional heaters, it reaches the target temperature of <mark><strong>360\u00b0C in just 11 seconds<\/strong><\/mark>, delivering outstanding thermal response. Demonstration videos showed how the UH Heater maintains stable temperatures during continuous soldering, reducing cycle time by more than 10 seconds compared with conventional systems. In addition, its <mark><strong>tool-free, one-touch tip replacement<\/strong><\/mark> helps minimize <mark><strong>unplanned production stops (&#8220;Choco-tei&#8221;)<\/strong><\/mark> on the manufacturing floor.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The session also highlighted the importance of proper maintenance in preventing soldering defects and robot malfunctions caused by flux fumes and carbon deposits. The central theme of the tip soldering session was <mark><strong>&#8220;repeatability&#8221;<\/strong><\/mark>. Successfully running a robot once does not mean a process is ready for automation. The session emphasized the importance of <mark><strong>proper machine setup and preparation<\/strong><\/mark> to ensure successful testing and consistent soldering quality in mass production.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ideal Solder Joint Shape<\/strong>: The ideal solder fillet should have a smooth, well-balanced profile, which was humorously compared to the shape of <strong>Mount Fuji<\/strong>, bringing smiles from the audience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temperature Profile Control<\/strong>: The session explained the different roles of the initial solder application, which promotes heat transfer, and the second solder application, which forms the final solder joint, based on the solder&#8217;s melting point of approximately 217\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  Finally, the importance of <mark><strong>keeping detailed process records<\/strong><\/mark> was emphasized. Proper documentation enables engineers to explain test results with confidence and ensures that the same process conditions can be reproduced consistently in the future.\n<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-5 order-md-1\">\n<div class=\"_image align-center\">\n<figure>\n          <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/unix_soldering_day_2026_13.webp\" alt=\"Tip soldering session\" \/><br \/>\n        <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"04\" class=\"c-box\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<h2 class=\"heading-title\">Session 4: Laser Soldering \u2013 Unlocking Its Full Potential and Pushing the Limits<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-7 order-md-1\">\n<p>\n  The following session focused on laser soldering, highlighting the key differences from tip soldering, as well as its advantages and limitations.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The greatest advantage of laser soldering is its <mark><strong>non-contact heating<\/strong><\/mark>, which enables precise soldering of extremely small areas while <mark><strong>significantly reducing maintenance time<\/strong><\/mark>. However, because laser heating delivers highly concentrated energy almost instantly, incorrect process settings can increase the risk of overheating or damaging components.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  During the session, practical solutions were presented for real-world challenges, such as black plastic components absorbing laser energy and becoming damaged. Examples included changing the component color to white and adjusting the laser irradiation angle. In addition, the latest beam technologies\u2014including the <mark><strong>Ring Laser<\/strong><\/mark>, <mark><strong>Twin Laser<\/strong><\/mark>, and <mark><strong>Area Laser<\/strong><\/mark>\u2014were demonstrated through videos, showcasing new possibilities for improving laser soldering performance while minimizing the impact on surrounding components.\n<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-5 order-md-2\">\n<div class=\"_image align-center\">\n<figure>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/unix_soldering_day_2026_23.webp\" alt=\"Laser soldering session\" \/><figcaption>Explanation of laser beam technologies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"05\" class=\"c-box\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<h2 class=\"heading-title\">Interactive Hands-On Training and Networking<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-7 order-md-2\">\n<p>\n  After the technical sessions, participants joined a <mark><strong>Hands-On Q&#038;A<\/strong><\/mark> using actual equipment. Guided by dedicated theme cards, they experienced practical tasks such as adjusting the Z-axis height, performing auto-tuning, and verifying the laser irradiation position with special test paper. The session also provided an opportunity to engage in <mark><strong>direct technical discussions with our engineers<\/strong><\/mark>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Between sessions, participants also took part in a 10-question review quiz using their smartphones.
